πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

Clark County Board of Health unanimously appointed Dr. Brianna da Silva Bhatia as interim Health Officer on August 26, 2026. She replaces Dr. Alan Melnick, who retired on August 25 after 20 years of service as Health Officer and Director of Public Health.

She is a board-certified internal medicine physician with a Master of Public Health from the University of Washington. The Board of Health thanked Dr. Melnick for guiding the county through the COVID pandemic and measles outbreaks. The Board will now begin discussions with the Public Health Advisory Council to appoint a permanent Health Officer.
