Clark County Public Health is investigating a confirmed measles case in an unvaccinated Clark County child who was at AFC Urgent Care Camas on Friday, Aug. 7, from 2 to 6:30 p.m.
People exposed at the clinic during that time who are unvaccinated or unsure of their vaccination status should stay home for 21 days and contact their health care provider if symptoms develop. Two doses of the measles vaccine are 97% effective, and vaccination records are available via the state's MyIR Mobile system.
This is the 17th measles case in Clark County this year, with 15 cases involving unvaccinated individuals. The county health department urges those at risk to monitor symptoms, which include fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and rash, and to seek medical advice before visiting a clinic.
