Vancouver, WA has launched an online registration system for emergency alerts, allowing residents to sign up for real-time notifications about natural disasters, hazardous materials incidents, and other emergencies.
The new system, available through the city's public safety portal, replaces the previous email-only notification method. Residents can now register using their phone number or email to receive alerts via text or email during emergencies, including floods, terrorism threats, and hazardous material releases.
The city's Public Works department and CRESA (Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency) are managing the system, with details available on the city's website under 'Emergency Preparedness.'
